Mauricio Callejas’ music is influenced by popular rhythms of his native El Salvador and the rest of Latin America with special emphasis in Central America music. His compositions are meaningful and touching, they are blended with rhythms that delight the audiences and invite them to discover. LETICIA RODRIGUEZ is an enchanting and energetic Latin World music singer and performer. As a performer, she is cultured, sophisticated, and well educated, compelling her audiences to dance and sing. Ms. Rodriguez comes from an extended family of singer/songwriters. Her aunt, internationally renowned singer, Eva Garza, was one of the first Latina crossover artists from Decca Records (Columbia). Her history and family includes many performing artists, making her entire life an education in the arts.
In October of 2012, Rodriguez will release her first CD, La Americana, redefining the experience of American music. CUCHILLO E’ PALO is a recently formed band from Austin that mixes Latin and tropical music; its components have been playing in different Latin bands here in Austin such as “O Positivo”, “Los Vigilantes”, Son Five”, “Ritmo Tres”. Musicians include: Luis Angel Ibanez, Raul “Wawi” Cabrera, Greg Jones, Noah Mosgofian, Joe England and Daniel Durham.
