Mauricio Callejas presents new album “Crisis”

New album: Crisis

Mauricio Callejas invites you to the exclusive unveiling of the 12 new songs that are part of his new album “Crisis”. A collection of songs that span more than two decades of songwriting, carefully handpicked as each one of them was created during troubled times, songs written to comfort after a personal loss, to make you laugh during sad times and songs to empower the community.

The album was recorded and produced by Mauricio himself and counts with the collaboration of many talented musicians like Esteban Alvarez on piano, Gabriel Gutierrez on drums and percussion, Mario Alvarez on bass, all from Costa Rica, and the Salvadorans Luis Mario Magaña on keyboards, Douglas Fagoaga on sax and trumpet, Jaime “Hulk” Varela on guitars and Teresita Ramos on vocals. The album was recorded during 2019 between Austin TX, El Salvador and Costa Rica.

The first single to be launched on the digital streaming platforms is the song “Le Falta Salir” (You need to go out more) featuring Frigüey from El Salvador and Humberto Vargas from Costa Rica. This playful bilingual song talks about solidarity, about people helping people in their communities just because that is the right thing to do, and how we can easily live unaware of those “good news” that won’t make the cut at the news room, therefore how important is to go outside of our personal bubble to discover and join those efforts. The video will also feature the work of many grassroots organizations around the world from Africa, Mexico, the U.S., Central American, Brazil among others.

The art cover features a piece created by, also Salvadoran, Dilcia Giron who has made a career as a painter and mixed media artist in California. There will be Limited Edition CD’s available at the show and the songs will also be distributed through streaming services in early 2020.

Centroamericanto Fest 2019

The 11th edition of Centroamericanto Fest will feature the legendary singer-songwriter Luis Enrique Mejía Godoy accompanied by the talented Manuel Guadamuz on guitar and Edwin Rayo on keyboard. Tato Henríquez from El Salvador, local Central American artists, traditional dances, and Central American food. More information about 2019’s artists
