San Salvador at dusk

May 12th, 2002

He walks like he was carrying the world
And with his dreams he bothers the fantasy
And seeps into the traffic
While the smoke surrounds him as a habit

The sky runs out of oxygen
And it starts raining something magic
That roof becomes his trench
While rain fades route numbers

The murmur becomes so familiar
And blends it self into the sun breathe
But when the parrots cut the air
San Salvador will be laying behind us

She sells radishes in the market
And saves in her chest what she gave
At home they melancholic wait for her
Even more hungry and thirsty for love

And she walks holding her purse
Like if she was so brave
It is so usual to be running behind
Like if the clock owns our life

‘Cause nobody respects the street light
It cannot handle its frustration
While his soul awaits for the bird
That will take his suffering away

The murmur becomes so familiar
That blends it self into the sun breathe
But when the parrots cut the air
San Salvador will be lying behind us
